Irish Plant Based Supplements Company “Growing 40-50 percent month on month”

One Nutrition Is Experiencing High Growth After Eco-Friendly Rebrand

The Wicklow based supplements company, One Nutrition, recently overhauled its brand to tackle issues such as sustainable sourcing, environmental packaging, and rising consumer demand for plant-based products. The supplements are sold in reusable amber bottles and are made with "the purest of ingredients ethically sourced – presented in almost 100 percent recyclable packaging”, according to founders Darragh Hammond and Dominic Galvin.

The business is surviving despite difficult current circumstances. Galvin and Hammond have overcome multiple challenges with the brand in recent years. "The ever-changing European legislative environment which governs our industry - We have to work within very tight regulation. We constantly have to be mindful of wording on packaging, of ingredients used and of strength of ingredients – it’s constantly changing in Europe."

"Then the VAT which was introduced for the first time on food supplements in January last year, that’s 13.5 percent, so that adds an extra level of cost to the consumer. And then there are the unknown ramifications to come of Brexit," they told the Irish Times.

Supplements for Plant Based Vegans

The companies range currently comprises of 14 products, with more in the pipeline. One Nutrition will add "another three or four new products within the range this year". The company is also very clear that one of their products, Joint Aid, contains one ingredient which is not classed as vegan, and so they do not advertise or label it as such and make this explicitly clear on their website.

Their plant-based supplements range is classed into three product categories: The Organic Superfoods range, which includes spirulina, wheatgrass, barley grass, and power greens. Recovery products are Magnesium, Ocean PH, L-Glutamine, and the previously mentioned Joint Aid. Recovery may be of particular interest to plant based and vegan consumers as its B-12 Max spray is a high-quality offering and a necessity for those who do not consume animal products
